I am a runner… no no, not for a marathon or walk a mile today affairs. I run for my life (No, now you are serious!! don’t take it literally).
We have come across many posters, post-ads and advertisements telling how a woman sloughs throughout her lifetime. Running errands, fixing, taping, toiling, arranging, dusting and creating whatever comes in the realm of her earth.
How about I try to list some useful hints to soothe the real ever hectic life..
I may be just writing the regular gibberish. Skip it, if you have used these pointers yourself. But, for good; you can add the few trick that you may know, for us to benefit mutually.
~ Potatoes – Potatoes are life savers I should say, in any of our Indian cooking potatoes can live as gravy, stir fry, crisper or I can simply eat them as main course. When you have the time peel and dice the raw potato in big cubes and salt them in the zipper and store it.
~ Coconut – Scrap and mince the coconut in the mixer. After you transfer it into a bowel without using your hands mix it with little about of salt and store away in freezer. Even better, try buying coconut milk tins and stake it, it will come handy to make gravies. Coconut rice out of this ready tins in slow cooker tossed with green chilli is one of my favorite recipe.
~ Green Chilli – Wash the green chilli in salt water, nip the stalk of every chilli. Now store it in an airtight container in your freezer.
~ Cilantro / Coriander – The Indian store of mine offers three bunches of cilantro for $1. Initially I used to waste the rest as I wont be able to use all of them in my cooking before they wilt. What I did was, I cut the roots of the bunch and run them in cold water. After the wash, I put them root side down in a jar of water. Yeah! Like a plant pot in your fridge. Leave it in the fridge and all you got to do is – whenever you need a few sprig, open the door and pluck the leaves from the water vase and there you go! Use it !!!
Looking forward to your kitchen cures!! Please add in.
