Indian actor R.Madhavan’s son fetches a bronze medal for the nation
R.Madhavan, who is currently enjoying a purple patch, has all the reasons in the world to be happy now. Yes! His 12-year-old son – Vedaant Madhavan, has just made both his father and country proud by winning a bronze medal (his first-ever international medal) in the Thailand Age Group Swimming Championships 2018. Vedaant’s third-place finish in the 1500 meter freestyle swimming category has kept his father busy responding to thousands and thousands of wishes that were pouring in after the actor took to Twitter to make the proud announcement.

Madhavan holds a strong affinity towards swimming, and it has seemingly rubbed off on Vedaant as well. The youngster has trained hard over the past four years and has already made the headlines several times. The state-level winner achieved a major feat last year by swimming 4 kilometres within the space of 57 minutes.
Vedaant’s liking for sports is such that he once showed great interest to adopt boxing following his dad’s heroics in the movie “Irudhi Suttru (Saala Khados)”.

To take up a relatively less fancied sport in a cricket-crazy country like India is itself a commendable move. And to taste success on a global stage at such a young age only tempts us to hope for the best from him in the coming years. Well done young man!
