November 14, 2012: Vijay and A R Murugadoss’ Thuppakki has released to a mammoth opening at Kollywood Box Office on day one. Buzz reveals that the film has achieved significant business across the globe, apart from theatres in Tamil Nadu.
The film, which was released in over 1,600 screens on Tuesday, has come in for praise from both critics and fans. Vijay's stylish performance and Murugadoss's direction have turned out to be major attractions of this action thriller.
Vijay and A R Murugadoss are indeed happy about how things have unfolded.
Vijay’s acting skills seem bigger in this action packed thriller. "When I heard the story for the first time from Murugadoss, I felt that it would go down well the masses. My guess has come true now," the actor says.
The film is free of obscenity; kudos to Murugadoss for giving a movie that can be watched with the entire family.
"Right from day one we were constant about one thing- that to enthrall the audience with each and every scene. Vijay gave his full co-operation," says Murugadoss.
The director has indeed lived up to the expectations with Thupaki. And, Vijay too has done well to break free from his usual mass-hero acting style.
