Aamir Khan in Talaash
October 30, 2012: The audio launch Of Aamir Khan’s upcoming movie, Talaash, was held recently. Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Farhan Akhtar, Javed Akhtar, Reema Kagti, Riteseh Sidhwani, Sona Mohapatra, Zoya Akhtar, Raj Kumar Yadav and other celebrities were present at the event.
At the music launch, Aamir said, “Though Salman, Ajay and Akshay have played the roles of a cop but my role is different. It is not an out-an-out entertaining film in that way but I liked it and agreed to be part of it.”
Talaash has music by Ram Sampath, who is having his first Bollywood project this year with this movie. He is also helped by lyrics from the legendary Javed Akhtar.
The first in the album is a jazz swing song, Muskaanein Jhooti Hain, sung by Suman Sridhar. This song is one of the catchiest, aided by the beautifully husky voice of the singer.
The next is Jee Le Zaraa -- a smooth rock ballad that features Vishal Dadlani’s striking vocals. The poetic lyrics of Javed Akhtar also come out as a show stealer in this number.
Another classy song in the album is Jiya Lage Na. Sung by Sona Mohapatra, Jiya Lage Na is basically a classical, fusion number with western touches and meaningful lyrics.
Next up is Hona Hai Kya. This one, sung by the composer Ram Sampath himself, is mostly a song that focuses on reflecting the suspense element of the movie.
The last song, Lakh Duniya Kahe, is also sung by Sampath. However, this one is a notch higher in quality, when it comes to touching the heart of listeners. This song is also another number in the album that is helped greatly by the soulful lyrics of Javed Akhtar.
Overall, the album stands out, mostly on account of the versatility of the composer and of course the lyrics of Javed Akhtar. But, the album could have come out even better, if the techno element was reduced a bit. Still, the album makes an impression in its own unique way.
Directed by Reema Kagti, Talaash is a suspense film that revolves around the main character, inspector Surjan Singh Shekhawat (Aamir Khan) and his investigation on mysterious murders.
Talaash is slated to release on November 30.
