Check out the video of Sanjay Dutt leaving to Yerwada Central Prison after being sentenced to 5 year imprisonment in March 2013
Conviction under criminal charge is certainly a big issue for a renowned personality like Sanjay Dutt. The popular Bollywood actor was accused of 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai and was sent to jail in March 2013 after the conviction before which he had already served 18 months in jail.
Overview of Sanjay Dutt’s case
Dutt was sentenced to a 5 year imprisonment at Yerwada Central Prison. Though he was freed from terror charges under TADA, Supreme Court convicted him for possessing illegal weapons in his home. He was granted 14 days furlough in December 2014. Then he got back to jail on January 8, 2015.
Recent Update
Now we hear that, the actor is been under consideration for an early release on account of his good conduct in the prison. The clearance of this plea is under processing.
It is observed, there is a persistent delay toward this request, because of a complication involved in the furlough granted to Dutt on December 2014. Official sources add that, Dutt delayed 2 days beyond the granted furlough period of 14 days, which tends to be an issue in this case.
If everything goes well, Sanjay Dutt will be out of Yerwada Central Prison by Febraruary 25 or March 7th, 2016.
