‘Every woman is a queen and she has the power to overcome all miseries and lead her life the way she wants it to be.’ Hitting the theatre screens with that message, Vikas Bahl’s bollywood drama Queen released today. A first half filled with stereotypes and a second half filled with the entertainment quotient, Queen stars Krrish 3’s Kangana Ranaut, Rajkumar Rao and Lisa Haydon in pivotal roles.

Starting with a typical Indian wedding scenario, Queen narrates the story of a conservative Punjabi girl, Rani (Kangana) who gets dumped by her fiancé, (Rajkumar Rao). Instead of moping in a dark room this Punjabi 'kudi', who never stepped out of her village without parental permission, decides to venture on with the pre-booked honeymoon trip to France and Amsterdam on her own. Thus she re-discovers the better woman in herself.
Although, the plot is not brand new, it’s still not something that is clichéd. But Kangana's best acting ever has made the film a must watch. Book Queen Movie Ticket. She has given a really impresses performance. With what little screen space Rajkumar has got he has played the regressive fiancé perfectly.
HindustanTimes has reviewed Queen saying that Kangana is like “the younger Sridevi from English Vinglish - discovering herself, within the confines of her own culture and upbringing, yet defying norms set by others.”
If not for anything else you should watch the flick just for Kangana’s performance.
