November 6, 2012: British actress Mandy Thakar will be playing a role in Venkat Prabhu's Biriyani, according to reports.
The actress, who has previously acted in a couple of Punjabi movies, comes in the place of Richa, who has opted out of the project due to some changes in script.
The upcoming comedy entertainer starring Karthi is directed by Venkat Prabhu of Chennai 28, Saroja, Goa and Mankatha fame. The cast includes Hansika and Premgi Amaren in the lead roles. Venkat Prabhu has also roped in the new couple Sneha and Prasanna for Biriyani.
The music for Biriyani is highly anticipated, as it marks the 100th film in Tamil movies for the composer Yuvan Shankar Raja.
The release date for Biriyani has been announced as 14 January 2013.
