Nov 29, 2017: Winner of numerous awards and honors, veteran actor Kamal Haasan remains a major force in the film business.
After experiencing a lull in the mid-2000s, Kamal Hassan made a powerful comeback with Vishwaroopam, which became one of the biggest hits of his career.
The rip-roaring success of the film came as a strong indication that a sequel is underway. Kamal too made it official that a sequel is in the pipeline.
Later, we heard that major portions of Vishwaroopam 2 shoot were over by 2014 itself. However, the high budget venture suffered setbacks due to a financial crisis faced by its producer Aascar Ravichandran.
It was said that Kamal Hassan couldn’t complete the film’s post-production and remaining scenes, as the producer had decided to opt out
In due course, Kamal decided to take over reins as the producer through his home production banner Raaj Kamal Films International. He even announced that the film is set to be released soon.
Grapevine is now buzzing with the news that Kamal is awaiting updates on the release date of 2.0, which has been postponed. Sources say he and his crew have meanwhile also started the final leg of the shoot in Chennai to complete Vishwaroopam 2.
Yet, one wonders how Kamal will manage to complete his portions in Vishwaroopam 2, as he looks a lot different from how he looked like in the film’s first part. Well, let’s wait for the film to hit screens. Sources say the movie is likely to have a January 2018 release.
