The teaser has shattered every known Indian YouTube record to date with 17.1 million views and counting. It was the fasted ever to reach the many landmarks on the video sharing site being the fastest to reach a million views, 5 million next and then the 100k likes mark and lots of other milestones! Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ can be termed a hit even before its launch with the hype surrounding it.
Kabali teaser is now the most watched Indian movie teaser ever on YouTube! This is some feat since the close competitors are Amir Khan’s Dhoom 3 and Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ teasers. The movie is directed by Pa.Ranjith and backed financially by Kalaipuli S Thanu will portray the Super Star as an ageing mafia don in Malaysia. Radhika Apte plays the role of his wife while other cast members include Nassar, Roshan, Winston Chow, Dhansika, Dinesh Ravi, Kalaiyarasan, John Vijay, Riythvika and Kishore.
The audio release has been scheduled for May 30th and will release simultaneously in both Tamil and Telugu. The movie will hit the theatres on July 1st. The initial release date was set as the 7th but has been preponed to avoid clashing with Salman’s ‘Sultan’.
