Balupu, which has been receiving a grandeur response at the USA Box Office in the first weekend, starts off with the Mass Maharaja saving Lakshmi Rai in a big fight. Ravi Teju’s entry is good and with his dialogues that brought out the energy in the theaters, he is back with a bang!
Ravi plays the role of a recovery agent at a bank, leading a simple life in Bangalore, along with his father, where he happens to meet Shruti and her uncle Crazy Mohan unexpectedly. Learning that Shruti and her uncle have the habit of cheating credulous men, Ravi Teja wants to teach Shruti a lesson. But most expectantly, they fall in love.
Now comes the twist to happy ending. Vizag Poorna (Ashutosh Rana) reveals a shocking truth about the violent past Ravi and his father, which also involves Anjali.
The rest of the story revolves around the truth muttered and Anjali’s role in Ravi’s life
While the first half of the movie has the viewers roaring with laughter, the later part takes off at a slow pace. Anjali’s innocent look and simple character suits her well and her scenes with Ravi Teja are beautifully shot. Ravi Teja and Shruti Hassan’s chemistry has worked good and Shruti Hassan’s glamour – Huge plus.
Though the songs could be placed better, it has not failed to provoke energy out of the viewers. Without Brahmanandam, the movie would have been incomplete and Prakash Raj has done a good job as Ravi Teja’s father.
Gopichand’s direction would need appreciation for placing his characters right and with the movie paced fast, the audience are in their place till the end. While the movie is technically simple with nothing to boast about, it is colorful throughout and with the audience immersed in the dialogues, there is not much time to bother about anything else.
