Who is Rome Chopra?
A) An up and coming entrepreneur
B) A self-made actor, director, producer
C) The founder an owner of a production company
D) All of the above
If you chose (A) you would be wrong! (Technically) because the correct answer is D. This 22 year old Renaissance Man and Johns Hopkins Masters of Finance candidate is venturing to do it all with the critical blessing of actors like Neil Nitin Mukesh.
Some would say that 22 is young but what they fail to realize about Rome is that much like the ancient empire he ‘wasn’t built in a day’. This Rome has been taking classes and training around the world (even in Paris) from the age of 14. He only does this because he enjoys entertaining crowds and cannot fathom anything he would rather be doing.
Most artists spend their time looking for a platform from which to launch their careers but Rome decided to build his own platform by producing and directing short films. He has since expanded this platform so that aspiring local artists can develop their crafts while helping out other aspiring artists under the banner of CXC Productions.
Currently Rome is starring in ‘Now and Then’ and is currently crowd funding to help make this major project a reality. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1620657491/now-and-then
Rome as an actor has a vision to start a trend for a new Desi in Hollywood. Gone should be the days where the plot lines for South Asians revolve around arranged marriages or falling in love with a white person (TAUBA TAUBA!!!!!!). We should move beyond that as an audience because the second generations of desis in America have deeper issues of self-exploration which have yet to be scratched by the mainstream. If you want to see more about that you’re going to have to click on the links below to see Rome in action. Kahani abhi bakhi hai mere dost!
