Jun 26, 2017: There has been a lot of speculation in the media about superstar Rajinikanth's entry into politics. Several sources close to the ‘Kabali’ actor have hinted that the latter could be entering politics in the near future and might make an announcement on his birthday.
In a recent chat with a leading daily, Rajinikanth said, “I have not denied it. We are discussing and yet to take a decision. Once I take a decision I will inform you.”
Rajinikanth in fact asked his fans to ‘prepare for war’ at a recent event, thus hinting on a possible entry into politics.
“When a war comes, they will come to the rescue of their motherland. I have a profession, work, duty and so do you. Go to your places, do your duty, take care of your vocation. Let us face the war when it comes.” he had further added.
During the audio launch of “VIP 2” Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush cleverly evaded questions on the former’s political ambitions.
“You have seen the invite and it said no questions about politics,” he quipped.
One journalist asked Dhanush about his take on actors joining political groups and he said, “Do you have an opinion on why he shouldn’t? So I have my opinion too and I'll keep mine to myself.”
A sequel to the 2014 hit, “Velaiilla Pattadhari 2” stars Dhanush and Kajol in lead roles and is helmed by Soundarya. The film is expected to hit screens on July 28.
