Illayaraja’s Tour of the US – Maestro 1000, kicked off in San Jose last weekend. The legend performed for his Tamil and Telugu fans in two separate events organized by Bay Area’s largest ethnic community associations – BATA and Kalalaya. The Isaignani and his team landed in San Francisco on Friday.
Bay Area Telugu Association kicked off the tour by organizing an Exclusive Telugu Concert which featured some of the best singers in the industry – Mano, Karthik, Chitra and others singing to the music, tunes & beats of Illayaraja’s soul-stirring orchestra!
This Live Concert featured more than 50 songs from Illayaraja’s biggest hits and the fans were ecstatic about the event. The highlight of the show was the host, Prakash Raj who clearly was very excited to be part of Illayaraja’s first ever Telugu concert.

BATA also organized a Meet & Greet for eager fans. The tickets for this activity was bought by fans through Sulekha and clearly, they were overjoyed about the opportunity to meet Illayaraja, interact with him about his music and click photos. Here are a few clicks from this BATA event.

Sunday was different altogether as Tamil fans in Bay Area were in for a treat as 8K Miles joined hands with Kalalaya and organized a grand live concert that fans will not forget forever in their lives! The event took place at the famous San Jose Event Center and had the most amazing attendance by fans and symphonies that resonated throughout the evening.
