The sole he puts in the songs, the texture of his voice and his dedication to music is unrivalled.
Yes, I am talking about none other than Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan who performed live here in Dallas on Friday April 19th and left the audiences wanting for more.
He made people sway and groove to his tunes. Ustad Rahat who received his lesson from the real maestro the "Shahenshah-e-Qawwali, "The King of Kings of Qawwali”, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, who was also his uncle. Rahat is not only a Qawalli singer but is huge in Bollywood playback singing and has millions of admirers all over the globe.
This event was hosted by Emdo Entertainment in association with PME and FunAsia was the Exclusive Media Partner. The stage was set like a Qawwali stage where 20 musicians were seated. The ones who sat with him were dressed in white, including himself. The round bolster pillows were in pink which added the accent color on stage. The rotating lights threw rays of fresh pinks, magenta’s, violets and gold giving the evening a dreamy feel. Moreover songs like Sajda, Akhiya hi dikh deena, Dil to bachcha hai ji, Tank te Rehte Tujhe were some of the other songs that won over the listeners.

According to the sources, he arrived in Dallas the same day and was terribly jet lagged. Inspite of that he performed non- stop for two hours, without even breaking for water. His music and appearance looked as fresh as he would be after a good rest. . That is the kind of devotion that he has for music. There was a point when the sponsors wanted to break for some announcements but the audience refused any interruptions. They started to boo and scream. That was a funny scene but showed their love towards the Chote ustad.
Listening to Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan live instills a different kind of faith and liking towards this artist, his talent is immaculate. It takes you to a dreamland and a feeling of goodness is what you leave with.
