Jun 27, 2017: It is well known that Modi likes to give world leaders a warm hug whenever possible.
He did the same on meeting US President Donald Trump Monday. This time around he was so blatant with his hugs that the news spread like wild fire on media. Soon, Modi’s hugs became a hot topic of discussion on twitter as well.
Both Americans and people back home in India had a field day on Twitter over Modi’s bear hugs.
Wearing a black suit, Modi gave a Trump a handshake and a warm hug on arrival and later met First Lady Melania Trump.
Giving a joint statement in the Rose Garden, Modi embraced Trump once again, placing his head softly on the latter’s chest. After the hug came Modi’s poignant, extended handshake.
Pleased with Modi’s flurry of hugs, Trump patted him on the back, paving way for some truly memorable photo ops.
Apart from hugs and handshakes, Modi and Trump also exchanged remarks of praise for each other's governance.
