Sauteing and frying alone aren’t counted as cooking…picking up some garam masala might be of help, but not as your creativity does! “amina’s creations” is a cheerful exploration towards authentic Indian and fusion cooking…
When’s the first time, you were ever attracted by “cooking”? Can you tell us, who’s your inspiration?
I think it came on slowly as I watched my mother cooking in the kitchen. She used to cook new recipes. That to a large extent inspired me to not only to cook but also to enjoy cooking.
How do you make time to explore regional cuisines? Your ‘ Haleem’ and ‘Cheese Omelette Sandwich’ made us to try it! Can you share with us the three secret ingredients you use in most of your recipes?

I like trying out new recipes and sometimes watch cookery shows on TV. I make a few changes to it to suit our taste. Cheese omelette sandwich is something I tried to make a change from the regular bread omelette whereas the credits of making Haleem go straight to my mother.

The three secret ingredients that I use often are chicken 65 masala that spices up any gravy dish that you make, a tsp of ghee adds an extra taste and coriander leaves makes any dish colourful.
What’s your favorite regional cuisine? Personally, which dish of yours will be your signature dish?

My favourite cuisine is South Indian cuisine. Personally Murgh malai mutter will be my signature dish.
Do you believe in ‘diet’? Do you schedule your meals and calories?
I am not very much into diet as I have a lean frame. My friends and relatives keep asking me to add on extra kilos. :)
Would Mexican flavors go with Indian dishes? Who inspired you to cook ‘continental’? Do you think that it’s possible to store every “Indian spice” wherever we are?

Fusion foods are currently in vogue now and Mexican and Indian food share a lot of things in common like beans, coriander leaves, and mangoes. Mexican flavours would certainly go well with the Indian dishes.

Eating continental food at a food joint inspired me to first try out continental food. Spices need to be stored in air tight containers and attention has to be given to check if they are fresh. Most Indian spices can be easily stored.
From your blog it’s apparent that you’re a connoisseur. How do you keep with trends? Are you the person who likes to be a ‘shopaholic’?
I keep an eye on what’s happening around through news, magazines and websites and chatting with my friends and cousins. I am not a shopaholic. I only buy things which I think are necessary.
Where do you get your stitching ideas from? Especially we understood that “stitching puff sleeves” isn’t that complicated as we fathom.

My stitching ideas come from the notes that I wrote while learning stitching. I try to write the tutorials in as simple language as I can because real stitching tutorials are very complex and you need to have a basic knowledge to go about it. I have tried to keep my posts very simple so that even people with very minimal knowledge in stitching can easily understand it.
Can you tell us your “fashion mantra”?
My fashion mantra is wear clothes which are elegant, comfortable and make you feel and look good. We should not blindly imitate others.
So, what are you up to? Getting inspired to equip your head with creativity?
