Oct 29 2017: Actor Madhavan made good use of a rare opportunity to visit the Canadian Parliament. Much to his surprise, the actor fondly known as Maddy, received a red carpet welcome at the Parliament and he thanked politician Gary Anandasangaree for the honour.
Canada's Minister of International Trade Francois-Philippe Champagne gave him a guided tour in the House of Commons as well.
Indo-Canadian Leaders Bardish Chagger Navdeep Bains were also present to give the “Rang De Basanti” actor a warm welcome.
Madhavan took to twitter to share the pics from his Canada visit. In one of these photos, he can be seen sitting on the speaker’s chair.
“On the Speakers Chair at the Canadian Parliament house- Ottawa . Thank you for the Honour and the experience sir Gary Anandasangaree,” the actor wrote on twitter.
Minister Bardish Chagger later tweeted, “Bollywood is in the House of Commons. Hope you enjoyed your visit to the Hill.”
“So very lovely meeting you too sir. Thank you for that extraordinary tour and all the love.. see you very soon in MUMBAI,” Madhavan wrote in response,
Maddy last appeared in Tamil neo-noir crime thriller film “Vikram Vedha” with actor Vijay Sethupathi under the direction of Pushkar & Gayathri. He is set to share screen space with Akkineni Naga Chaitanya in Telugu film Savyasachi under Chandoo Mondeti’s direction.
