What is Slang…?
As defined by Oxford Dictionaries, slangs are “words that are not a part of standard vocabulary or language and are used informally”. “These words are mostly used in speech rather than in writing.” Divided into four different types, the Common slang is what is used by almost everybody.

Development of Slangs
The whole reason behind the development of slangs was to put space between the current generation and its parents’ generation. What better way to do it than through the through the art of language. They developed their own new idioms and expressions that make the adults scratch their heads in wonder, trying to figure out what the slangs mean.
Here is a list of some of the Slangs…
Busted – meant that someone was caught doing something, but now, someone is busted is to mean that they are ugly (not very cool you guys)
My bad – make a mistake and say “my bad”. Which means: “I was bad!”
Supersize - used to point anyone, anything, or any idea that is excessively big
Awesomity – it is the highest state of awesome
Tope – a combination of both “tight” and “dope”, it means something that is beyond cool

Apart from ruining the art of customary English language speaking, the usage of slangs has not contributed anything for the good of conversing. Even though it’s ‘hip and hop’ to use such languages, it is mostly rude and uncultured to use them on people who cannot understand them. Think twice before you adopt slangs in your speech!
