It’s that time of the year again to put your creative skills into force on an egg! I mean Easter Eggs! Easter’s here and nearly every bakery in Chennai is filled with yummy “Easter Eggs”. Although I like buying Easter eggs from bakeries in Chennai, the best Easter Eggs according to me are the simple old homemade Easter Eggs that my grandmother used to make for me and my cousins.

What is Easter…?
On Easter Sunday, Christians across the globe celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And the one thing synonymous to Easter is the Easter Egg. In many cultures around the world, the egg is a symbol of new life, rebirth and fertility. Hence, the tradition of painting hard-boiled eggs for Easter pre-dates Christianity.
Easter Celebrations…

Whether it’s to eat, play Easter egg hunt or decorate, Easter celebrations at home revolve around the Easter Egg. And the fun part of it all was to come up with creative ideas to paint the Easter Eggs along with my cousins. From theme based egg paintings, plain yet brightly colored eggs, stickered eggs to master paintings on eggs, there are a wide number of ways to paint the eggs. Not just that, you can even use the egg to decorate the house for Easter.

Starting with simple ‘egg in the nest’ decoration ideas, egg bouquets or egg bowl show pieces, Easter wreaths and Easter Egg jars, there are many creative ways to decorate the house for Easter.

However the end result turns out to be, the part to remember is the fun while you paint. So start painting and have a Happy Easter!
