India - The land of tradition and culture is quite famous for its tourism. Bordered by water bodies on three sides and the #Himalayas on the other, this peninsula is filled with places that tourists just “have to see”. And they succeed in doing so, thanks to the really expensive and umpteen number of travel agencies. But what they fail to do is experience the land while visiting it.
If you’re one such fan of the country then my advice to you is to “Be Indian and Do Indian” on your next trip to the country. The best three things, off the top, that you really have to try include
Super Train journeys
Ranking the world’s fourth largest rail-road network and also claiming a position among the largest employers, India has the best railway system (according to its citizens). Travelling in it takes real courage. Trying to get in while the already boarded passenger tries to get out, finding your seat and adjusting with the others in the compartment, getting knocked on the head from a heavy luggage and struggling to get fresh air (thanks to the population count) is simply worth it.
Superstitions
Next comes the long and never ending list of superstitions that you have to abide to. While you’re visiting, if someone stops mid-way just because a black cat crossed their path, don’t swear aloud, it’s just the principle of the thing called ‘superstition’. Drinking a glass of water if someone sneezes while they are leaving for some important work, fixing function dates according to planetary movements are other superstitions that you really need to try out. Oh and don’t forget to tie lemon and green chilies at the entrance of your abode to protect yourself from “buri nazar” the evil eye.
Animal Worshipping
And lastly, do not leave the land without taking part in ‘Animal worshipping’ for the land considers the cows holy and snakes as the nag devta. In #India everything is about faith. And with that faith it triumphs over all diversities.
