A Traditional Kolu with Arunai Hill Theme by Rajas

We keep our Kolu every year since 1976 onwards..and this year we have made our Theme -Thiruvannamalai Temple Deepam Darshan and its surrounding village areas,apart from our Main Kolu.

Main Kolu - with 9 Steps and it consists of mentioned here below in Chronological order(from 1st step from top to its end uptill 9th step)

1st step:

As we Traditionally practice to place the "DASAVATHARAM" Idols each year.

2nd Step:

Shakthi Darshan of the deities include Durga,Thirushakti mutram Idol

3rd Step:

Which consists of the Lord Annamalayar and Unnamalai amman,Pradosha Sivan along with Uma in Nandi Vahanam and also the devoted worship of

Ravana(Lankeshwaran) carrying the "Kailash Parvatham"(Mt.Kailash)

4th Step:

Lord Vishnu avatarams/manifestations - Kuzhanthai Kannan,Lord Balaji with Padmavathi Thayar

5th Step:

Continued the Sriman Narayanans Incarnation on this step too by placing the deities of

"Kalinga Nardhanan", "Gajendra Moksham", Satyanarayana Perumal , Lakshmi "Hayagreevan" and Lakshmi/Narayanan in "Mutthangi Sevai"

6th Step & 7th Step:

Krishnas Avatars and his naughty times consisting of "Vennai Thirudum Kalvan mayan" , "Oonjal"ing along Rukmani/sathyabhama , 

Kuzhaluthum Krishnan along with his favourite Cows.

8th Step :

Consists - Goddess Kanakatharavin Arul depicting story, Calcutta Durgai , Kuberan with Sanga nidhi/Paduma Nidhi set , and Santoshi Matha

Pujai

9th Step :

Kept the Kumbham and Amman Mugam(face) idol and decorated with devotion by my mother , Deocrated Marapachi Bommaigal and Chettiyar/Chettichi displayed

with their business activities

Near to the Main Kolu placed the

a) Mahabalipuram Beach and its shore temple views along with the Architectural structures..Also Includes the Garuda Sevai @ SthalaSayana Perumal koil in Mamallapuram(Mahabalipuram)

b) Ramayana scenes viz., Anjaneyar/Ravana Darbar , Jadayu Moksham , Guhan Padalam , Seetha-Marichan Deer Meeting scene,Ramar Pattabhishekam

Apart from the above, the Theme of Annamalai Deepam (Agni Sthalam in Pancha Bhootham,)Includes :

1.Thiruvannamalai Deepam and hill made up of Marble stones, China Clay , Sand and Stones used. "Gopuram" and "Hill view" of the Lord 

Arunachaleswara in Jothi form atop of the hill.

2.Surrounding Villages and irrigation done on the Farms of the Village and a road leading to the "Giri".

3.Kovil Thiruvizha- by arranging the "Poikkal kuthirai Aatam" (False Horse dance) , "Karagattam"(Pot dance)

4.A "Wedding" scene happening in the Tiruvannamalai Village with the attendees for the function.

5. "Village Grasslands" with roads with heavy traffic jam, due to the Festive season towards proceeding Lord Arunai Hill.

Igloo also been kept on the Park Area apart from Main Kolu.Our minds can ask why the ICELAND been kept here..For that the explanation which according to us is as follows.....

>>Igloo - kept next to the Arunai Hill.A symbolic representation of the South-pole which is the Agni Sthalam and the North Pole-other side of the Universe is the ICELANDIC IGLOO SET.

Both has been kept to balance the Heat and Cold.
