All roads in Chennai will definitely lead to Music Academy on Sunday, 31st March, 2013!
After Aruna Sairam, Sudha Ragunathan & T M Krishna, and Bombay Jayashri, it is now the turn of the Awesome Duo of Ranjani & Gayatri. Yes! The sisters will be performing at AIKYA 2013 which will be happening at Music Academy on Sunday, 31st March at 6 pm.
The theme of this year's AIKYA is Resolving Human Conflict. Well, Conflict Resolution, Problem Solving... these are some of the topics that regularly come up as part of the offerings of the Learning & Development (L&D) departments in all Corporates these days but this training is imparted in class rooms predominantly through Western Management Concepts. But when it comes to AIKYA 2013, the USP is the fact that it will focus on Resolving Human Conflict through our very own Bhagavad Gita! Ranjani & Gayatri will be 'in a musical dialogue inspired by the Krishna-Arjuna Samvada in Bhagavad Gita.'
Judging by what the sisters have said here, it does appear that a superb musical treat is in store for the rasikas:
What kinds of music will you render in this concert? What will make it unique?
Music that the heart hears long after the ears have stopped listening. The experience and thought that stays with you long after the notes have ebbed away, beyond language and genre barriers. There are going to be a few surprises.... melody, emotion and virtuosity. We do hope that our audience will enjoy it as much as we enjoyed putting it together!"
While answering a question posed by Gayatri, this is what Ms. Ranjini Manian, the Founder-CEO of Global Adjustments had to say:
What made Global Adjustments think of doing Aikya? It is not core to your role of expatriate services or cross-cultural training, is it?
"Well, it starts with our bigger purpose of wanting to portray India’s culture in a unifying way. How we all thrive in diversity keeping the oneness as core is amazing to the world, so why not amaze ourselves too, through better understanding."
As a lover of good music, I must say that I enjoyed myself thoroughly at AIKYA 2011 and 2012 - it is still a matter of regret that I missed the inaugural AIKYA 2010 due to unavoidable circumstances - and I am certainly looking forward to this Sunday's event!
